B1-EPG representations using block-cutpoint trees

چکیده
In this paper, we are interested in the edge intersection graphs of paths a grid where each path has at most one bend, called B 1 -EPG and first introduced by Golumbic et al (2009). We also consider proper subclass -EPG, x graphs, which allows only “ ” shape. show that two superclasses trees (one them being cactus graphs). On other hand, block provide linear time algorithm to produce representations generalization trees. These proofs employed new technique from previous results area based on block-cutpoint respective graphs.

Clique coloring B1-EPG graphs
We consider the problem of clique coloring, that is, coloring the vertices of a given graph such that no (maximal) clique of size at least two is monocolored. It is known that interval graphs are 2-clique colorable. In this paper we prove that B1-EPG graphs (edge intersection graphs of paths on a grid, where each path has at most one bend) are 4-clique colorable. Moreover, given a B1-EPG repres...
متن کاملOn Independent Set on B1-EPG Graphs
In this paper we consider the Maximum Independent Set problem (MIS) on B1-EPG graphs. EPG (for Edge intersection graphs of Paths on a Grid) was introduced in [9] as the class of graphs whose vertices can be represented as simple paths on a rectangular grid so that two vertices are adjacent if and only if the corresponding paths share at least one edge of the underlying grid. The restricted clas...
متن کاملStrong Reconstructibility of the Block - Cutpoint Tree
It is shown that the multiset of reconstruction trees of the connected components of a graph is strongly reconstructible. It is then shown, that an annotated version of the block-cutpoint tree is strongly reconstructible. A refinement of this result is given. Some cases of reconstructibility of separable graphs are given. A conjecture which implies the graph reconstruction conjecture is given. ...
متن کاملEPG-representations with Small Grid-Size
In an EPG-representation of a graph G, each vertex is represented by a path in the rectangular grid, and (v, w) is an edge in G if and only if the paths representing v an w share a grid-edge. Requiring paths representing edges to be x-monotone or, even stronger, both xand y-monotone gives rise to three natural variants of EPG-representations, one where edges have no monotonicity requirements an...
متن کاملApproximation Algorithms for Independence and Domination on B1-VPG and B1-EPG Graphs
A graph G is called Bk-VPG (resp., Bk-EPG), for some constant k ≥ 0, if it has a string representation on a grid such that each vertex is an orthogonal path with at most k bends and two vertices are adjacent in G if and only if the corresponding strings intersect (resp., the corresponding strings share at least one grid edge). If two adjacent strings of a Bk-VPG graph intersect exactly once, th...
